Production of seamless reducer
Reducer (big end and small end) is a kind of pipe fitting used for reducing pipe diameter. The common forming process is reducing diameter pressing, expanding diameter pressing or reducing diameter plus expanding diameter pressing. Stamping forming can also be used to reduce the pipe diameter of some specifications.
1. Reducing / expanding forming
The reductive forming process of the reducer is to put the tube blank with the same diameter as the big end of the reducer into the forming die, and extrude along the axial direction of the tube blank to make the metal move along the cavity and shrink to form. According to the reducing diameter of reducer, it can be divided into one-time pressing or multiple pressing.
In the process of reducing or expanding, cold pressing or hot pressing is determined according to different materials and reducing conditions. In general, cold pressing should be used as much as possible, but hot pressing should be used because of many times of diameter change, thick wall or severe work hardening caused by alloy steel materials.
2. Stamping forming
In addition to using steel pipe as raw material for reducing pipe production, some specifications of reducing pipe can also be produced by stamping and forming steel plate. The shape of the drawing die is designed according to the size of the inner surface of the reducer, and the die is used to punch and stretch the steel plate.
